Duck with hot Beetroot and Red Cabbage Recipe

A quick beetroot main meal recipe

This is a recipe for a simple and quick main meal that can be served with mash, rice or cooked vegetables.

Ingredients

1 duck; domestic and cut into pieces
6 beetroots, peeled and sliced
1 red cabbage, washed and shredded
2 onions, peeled and quartered
3 tablespoons fat
1 tablespoon flour
Water
Seasonings to taste

Recipe Instructions

Cook the ingredients.
Heat the fat in a large frying pan and fry the duck pieces for 4 minutes.  Empty the contents of the frying pan into a pot and sprinkle in the flour, mixing it in well.  Add all the other ingredients and enough water to cover everything.  Bring this mixture to the boil then cover the pot, reduce the heat and let the mixture cook slowly for 40 minutes.  Serve immediately.
